![]() The Fjords• Bergen National Geographic Traveler Magazine has crowned the Norwegian fjords as the world’s most beautiful travel destination. This program exhibits enormous contrasts: steep mountainsides, stunning fjords, roaring waterfalls, blue glaciers and lush valleys. The trip begins in the cultural city of Bergen, Norway’s second city, home of the composer Edvard Grieg and every May host to Bergen International Festival (we can help you get tickets for concerts). From Bergen, we travel inland to the Jostedal Glacier National Park, where you can learn all about the glacier and the dramatic lives of the people that have lived in this area through the ages. After Jostedal, we will take you north to the most famous fjords of Western Norway and then out to Selje on the edge of the open ocean. Here you will hear the story of Norway’s St Sunniva. Next we propose continuing northwards along the myth-spun coastline by Coastal Express. In other words, you can experience the fjords of Western Norway, the Helgeland coast and the Lofoten archipelago in a single trip. Naturally we have laid on visits to museums, galleries and stave churches, and in Selje you can enjoy SPA Thalassotherapy. Contact us for more details or suggestions for a personalized trip! |
