On this trip you will become better acquainted with the world-famous painter Edvard Munch. The tour starts in Oslo with in-depth guided tours of museums where experts will tell you about his life and works. Then we head out to his summer house in Åsgårdstrand, south of the capital, where Munch painted many of his most famous paintings.

The program also includes visits to other Norwegian artists’ homes and any number of galleries and museums along the fjords, up in the mountains and in inland towns and villages. Having visited the National Art Museum in Oslo at the beginning of the trip, we will then pass through many of the landscapes featured in paintings at the National Museum. You will also get to know some contemporary Norwegian artists.

The trip can be rounded off with a visit to the exceptional Art Nouveau city of Ålesund, or we can continue northwards by Coastal Express, in which case the trip will include the scenic Helgeland coastline and the magical light in the Lofoten archipelago. Along the way, we focus on art, museums and galleries.
